Privacy Policy – Relay Hunter
Last updated: June 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the Relay Hunter Chrome extension ("the Extension", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you install and use the Extension. This policy applies solely to the Relay Hunter extension available on the Chrome Web Store.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Data Collected Automatically
The Extension collects the following data automatically when you visit supported websites (specifically Amazon Relay load boards at relay.amazon.com and related subdomains):
- Page content (DOM): The Extension reads the text content of the Amazon Relay load board page to detect available loads, posted opportunities, alerts, and related information displayed on the page.
- URL information: The Extension reads the current tab's URL to determine whether you are on a supported Amazon Relay page and to identify which section or view you are accessing.
- Timestamps: The Extension records timestamps associated with detected loads, alerts, and user interactions (e.g., when a load was detected or when a notification was dismissed).
What the Extension does NOT collect automatically:
- It does not collect your browsing history outside of Amazon Relay pages.
- It does not collect cookies, login credentials, passwords, or session tokens.
- It does not collect personal identification information (name, address, phone number, email) from the pages you visit.
- It does not collect keystrokes, mouse movements, or form inputs outside of the Extension's own settings UI.
- It does not collect your IP address, device fingerprints, or geolocation.
1.2 Data You Provide Voluntarily
- Extension preferences and settings: When you configure the Extension (filters, notification preferences, alert criteria, display options), these settings are saved locally in your browser. Examples include: preferred notification sounds, load type filters, minimum payout thresholds, and alert frequency preferences.
- Support communications: If you contact us via email at [email protected], we receive your email address and any information you choose to include in your message. We use this solely to respond to your inquiry.
2. How We Collect Data
The Extension uses a Chrome content script that activates only on supported Amazon Relay domains (relay.amazon.com and related subdomains). The content script runs in the context of the page you are viewing and reads the page's DOM (Document Object Model) to identify load board data, opportunities, and alerts. This happens in real time as you browse. No data is collected when you are on any other website.
The Extension uses the storage permission solely to persist your preferences and cached load data. All data processing occurs locally within your browser. No data is transmitted to any remote server by the Extension during normal operation.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect only for the following purposes:
- Provide core functionality: To detect and display available loads, opportunities, and alerts on Amazon Relay load boards.
- Save user preferences: To store your configured filters, notification settings, and display preferences so they persist between browser sessions.
- Send notifications: To generate and display browser notifications based on your selected alert criteria (matching loads, price thresholds, etc.).
- Improve reliability: To identify and fix bugs, errors, or performance issues reported by users.
- Respond to support: To answer your questions and resolve issues when you contact us.
- Protect against abuse: To detect and prevent unauthorized access, misuse, or attempts to compromise the Extension.
The Extension does not use your data for advertising, marketing, profiling, or any form of automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Data Storage and Retention
All data collected by the Extension is stored locally on your device using the Chrome storage.local API. This means:
- Data stays on your computer and is not uploaded to any server, cloud service, or third party.
- Data persists only as long as it is needed for the Extension's functionality. Cached load data older than 30 days is automatically removed.
- User preferences and settings are retained until you uninstall the Extension or manually clear the data via Chrome's Extension management page (chrome://extensions → Relay Hunter → "Clear storage" or equivalent).
- If you uninstall the Extension, all locally stored data is automatically deleted by Chrome.
5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not share your personal information with third parties except in the following limited circumstances:
- Legal compliance: If required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request (e.g., a valid subpoena or court order), we may disclose information to the extent required.
- Service protection: To protect our rights, property, or safety, or the rights, property, or safety of others, such as investigating fraud or abuse of the Extension.
The Extension does not use third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics), third-party advertising networks, or third-party SDKs. The Extension does not transmit data to any third-party server, API, or cloud service as part of its normal operation. No data is shared with Amazon, Google, or any other company except as described above.
6. Data Security
Because all Extension data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage.local API, the security of your data is protected by the security measures implemented by the Google Chrome browser itself, including:
- Sandboxed extension environment preventing other extensions or websites from accessing Extension storage without permission.
- Chrome's built-in encryption for on-disk profile data when Chrome's system-level password protection is enabled.
- No remote transmission means no interception risk during network communication.
Communication with us via email is transmitted over standard internet email protocols, which are not inherently encrypted. We recommend you avoid sending sensitive personal information via email.
No method of storage or communication is 100% secure. While we implement reasonable safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights and Control
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: You can review all data stored by the Extension at any time by visiting
chrome://extensions, clicking "Details" for Relay Hunter, and inspecting the storage under the "Storage" section (if available) or by using Chrome's DevTools → Application → Storage → Extension Storage. - Correction: You can modify your preferences and settings at any time through the Extension's options/settings page.
- Deletion: You can delete all Extension data at any time by either:
- Uninstalling the Extension (all data is automatically removed), or
- Using Chrome's "Clear storage" option on the Extension management page, or
- Contacting us at [email protected] with a deletion request (applicable only to data you have voluntarily shared with us via support communications).
- Export: You can request a copy of any personal data you have voluntarily provided to us (such as support correspondence) by emailing [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
- Withdraw consent: You can disable or uninstall the Extension at any time. Uninstalling stops all data collection immediately.
We will respond to any data rights request within 30 days. If we cannot fulfill your request, we will explain the reason in writing.
8. International Users
By using the Extension, you understand that any data you voluntarily provide to us (via support email) may be transferred to and processed in the United States. The Extension's automatic data collection and storage occurs entirely on your local device and does not involve cross-border data transfer.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or the Extension's functionality. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
